"Sometimes you couldn’t face the sadness of being forgotten until you felt the comfort of being remembered again."

Ann Brashares, The Last Summer (Of You and Me)

There seems to be a recurring theme...

"I’ve made mistakes in my life. I’ve let people take advantage of me, and I’ve accepted way less than I deserve. But I’ve learned from my bad choices and even though there are some things I can never get back and people who will never be sorry, I’ll know better next time and I won’t settle for anything less than I deserve."

*I think I've heard this before... Yep, it was in one of my first posts. Ironically, I'm having to post it again, which makes me think I should pay a little more attention to it this time around. There seems to be a recurring theme in the recent pictures, quotes, and conversations in my life... all talking about realizing what you deserve and not settling for less. I think someone is trying to tell me something.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it does not keep records of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perserveres."
1 Corinthians 13:4-7

**I went to a beautiful wedding tonight and, as expected, this passage of the Bible was read. No matter how many times I hear it, however, it still resonates with me as being the best love quote of all time. No love song lyrics, romantic movie quotes, or fictional story passages can compete with the true, heartfelt words of scripture.

My Cali Girl Went Brit

This is only the beginning of the many posts to come celebrating the wonderful talent of my newly abroad best friend, Sarah. I currently have approximately twenty of her
new photos saved onto my computer (appropriately labeled "sarahox") waiting to be posted, but the book pictures just couldn't wait. I'm a big fan of the chandelier in the middle of an old bookstore.

Good find, S.

"Too often, the thing you want most is the one thing you can't have. Desire leaves us heartbroken, it wears us out. Desire can wreck your life. But as tough as wanting something can be, the people who suffer the most are those who don't know what they want."

"You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before, she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She's not perfect, you aren't either, and the two of you may never be perfect together, but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes... hold onto her and give her the most you can.

She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her heart that she knows you can break. So don't hurt her, don't change her, don't analyze and don't expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she's not there."
